Sentricon Renewal

Annual Maintenance #

At least once per year, the Sentricon stations with Recruit HD Bait need to be checked and maintained. Additionally, a termite inspection is legally required of the exterior of the structure and should be documented.

Renewal Process #

You typically need a Sentricon Locator to do a renewal to find stations efficiently.

  • Bait, a digging tool, graph, paperwork, extra stations, station caps, station key. Also, keep enough liquid concentration (Taurus or Fuse) on your truck in case a liquid application to active termites needs to be made.

Inspection Documentation #

Document a termite inspection. Take pictures of the four corners plus conducive conditions. TAT treatment at conducive areas, as well as monitoring the stations. TATs can be done with Dominion 2L or Bifen I/T.

Station Placement #

Stations should be placed approximately every 9 feet apart in the soil and 19 feet apart for core drilling. Inspect hard. Stations can sometimes be hidden or hard to find. You should inspect that the station is flush to the ground and that they are in the right spots.

Service Ticket Verification #

Your service ticket should have the number of stations that should be at that house. Verify that, and if a station is missing, you need to replace it. Ask the customer where the station could be or refer to the graph you may be provided with of the installation. They may know if it got damaged or pulled up. Educate the customer on keeping the stations up to date and in good condition. No liquid termiticide should ever be applied within 2 feet of the station. All stations should be placed outside the eve line of the home and a minimum of 2 feet from the foundation.

TAT Treatment #

After checking the stations, doing your termite inspection, and filling out the renewal survey with conducive conditions, you need to do a TAT (tunneling ant treatment) for the client around the exterior perimeter of their home. We do this on every Sentricon job unless the paperwork is noted otherwise.

Sales Tips #

  • Eco-friendly and much less intrusive compared to liquid termiticide treatments.
  • Renewal: minimum renewal price is $150 per 6 months or $300 per year. More for bigger and riskier houses.
  • Warranty: damage warranties limited. Call the sales manager or supervisor for details. Retreat warranties available for everyone.

Sentricon Station Pick-up #

Do whatever you can, with supervisor’s approval, to save the client.

  • IF you are sent to “pick-up” stations, this means that the client has not renewed their system in a timely manner. Make every effort to contact the client and let them know that they can renew their system still if they pay TODAY. If they refuse to let you on the property, make proper notes and documentation.
  • Document how many stations were picked up at the property on your work order on paper and/or mobile app. Have a locator to pick up as many stations as possible.
  • At the time of pickup, you can offer the homeowner $50 off the renewal fee as a last chance to renew and get back up on their payments. Also, offer a free exterior pest control and sweep down if they renew the Sentricon service.
