Perimeter Treatment

AI Doc Summarizer Doc Summary
AI Doc Summarizer Thinking Thinking

A perimeter treatment is done after every pretreat that Arrow does. The object is to complete a continuous barrier around the exterior of the foundation since the pretreat placed a barrier only below the foundation. You are likely the first face of Arrow this homeowner has seen. Make a great first impression and over-educate and service with absolute excellence. This is the best account and subdivisions to sell pest control to. Perimeters are done within 12 months of the pretreatment, so the structures are very new. Arrow must do the perimeter. There needs to be a significant effort to gather owner information and get them to renew their termite policy! By renewing it right now, they can keep a damage warranty. In lieu of the perimeter treatment, Arrow offers a heavily discounted one-time upgrade to Sentricon at this point. See perimeter to Sentricon pricing guide. Pricing is approx. $199 – $275 on structures to install Sentricon. Renewal payment starts the month after the installation at $22 – $27 per month.

Client Greet and Interview #

Introduce yourself. This is usually the first visible contact the property owner will have with an Arrow Rep. Explain perimeter treatment and ask if there are any obstructions against the foundation that will interfere with treatment. Inform the owner of how Arrow’s termite policies work and how termites work. Try to get them to renew the policy if not done already.

Inspection #

Inspect the structure for termites as well as early signs of moisture problems. Inspect the structure so that proper treatment per label can be done. Graph the structure with linear footage, visible joints, conducive areas, and product info.

Equipment #

  • Trenching tools, pick axes, and shovels.
  • Power sprayer (remove tip for better flow).
  • Graph paper, waivers, renewal paper, or mobile app.
  • Flashlight and probing tool for inspection.

Treatment Procedures: Know Your Updated Product Label and Laws! #

  1. Trench the exterior of the structure, piers, and chain walls.
  2. Treat at label rates, commonly four gallons per 10 linear feet.
  3. Rodding may be acceptable in landscaped areas or areas with obstructions against the foundation. Get a waiver signed if needed. Know your areas that need to be waived.
  4. Treat cracks and joints if possible. You do not need to drill them on this treatment.

Paperwork #

Fill out a graph, sign a waiver if needed. Termite inspection survey unless you are approved for mobile app inspections only.

Sales and Marketing Tips #

You are the first person this new homeowner has seen since this is a new structure. Make a great impression. Educate the homeowner that they have a damage warranty the builder paid for, and termites are a big threat in the area. Make an attempt to quote the $20 pest control special.
